in the future, people are deemed ugly until their sixteenth birthday,
when a life-changing operation turns them from a repellent ugly into a
stunningly gorgeous pretty. but being pretty isn't always what it's cracked
up to be. up until two years ago, the operation also brought along some
minor brain damage, just enough to turn anyone into happy, compliant,
bubbleheaded zombies whose only goal in life is to party, party, party.
thank god that's over, right? wrong!
sure, now people can think for themselves and do whatever they really
want to do, but there's a bigger problem .. a serial murderer! someone
doesn't like this new way of life, and when thirteen people are found
dead, the city officials are forced to take action. an old surgery that was
never supposed to be reused has come back and keeping track of the
city's inhabitants has become a daily job, but even that's not enough to
keep people safe. when a fourteenth victim is discovered, the city
decided to close it's doors forever, enclosing the residents in a
dome-like structure in the hopes that safety will no longer be an issue.
but no one is safe. not as long as there is still someone out there willing
to kill in order to bring back the bubblehead surgery. the new way of life
may not be so new for very long.
