tattoos and piercings , both of her ears are pierced twice each. she has a tattoo of a bird flying on her back and a heart with a sward going through it on her left wrist.
distinguishing features , kassie normally looks like she's sick, which she actually is, but she tries to cover it up with make up and all that.
physical flaws , she has tons of little holes on her fingers from checking her blood sugar constantly and holes on the inside of her elbows from where has to give herself insulin shots. and she has quite a few tiny scars and one big one down her back from a car wreck where she was thrown through the windshield.
personal style , kassie wears what kassie wants to wear, got it? whatever looks funky and looks like something not many other people would wear is what she looks for in stores. because what's the fun in blending in with the crowd? she wants to stand out. her wardrobe normally consists of a backdrop of black and lots of bright colors. she wears chunky jewelery and little make up besides base to hide her sickly looking color and eye make up. the main thing is she tends to keep things simple.

overall personality , first impressions can be tough, which is why kassie doesn't have too many close friends. she tends to be pretty sarcastic and blunt, which tends to turn people off of her. she says what's on her mind and has never been known to sugar coat anything to make someone feel better. need someone in a store to tell you if you look fat in that dress or not? hope to god that kassie isn't passing by because she'll be the first one to tell you it's about two sizes too small and it makes your skin look the color of oatmeal. so sue her for being honest. doesn't the world need more honest people nowadays anyways?
once people actually get past her less than pleasing "bubble" kassie's good as gold. she's goofy and loud and friendly as can be. she still acts like she did when you first met her, the sarcastic honesty will never leave trust me, but in a slightly nicer way. like instead of saying the dress is two sizes too small and makes your skin look like oatmeal, she'll say it may be a little too tight and not your color. then she'll drag you around with her and eventually tell you the exact same thing. because it kills her to soften things for people. she would rather hear the truth and not have it sweetened, so she just does for others as she'd have them do to her, really. she's following the golden rule, really.
one thing you'll have to deal with if you manage to become friends with kassie is her workaholic tendencies, her forgetfulness, and her getting sick pretty often. she takes her job pretty seriously and tends to brush off her friends when she gets called in even if she has plans made and it's one of her days off. and it's no secret that she doesn't have the best short term memory around, so if she isn't ditching to work, she probably forgot she had something to do. post-it notes are her best friends, seriously. pairing her forgetfulness with her hectic job and her diabetes, and you have a disaster. she has to eat at certain times throughout the day to keep from getting sick and having to go to the hospital. she has a bad habit of not taking care of herself in that sense.
kassie in a nut shell: sarcastic bitch with a soft side. what's not to love?

roleplay sample , "Wow...you weren't lying when you said this was bigger than Barbary's." The dark haired girl said as she stepped out of her cousin's car, looking at the front of Staten Academy. This was going to be a big change for her, seeing as she just transferred from a private all-girls school. She sighed, slinging her messenger bag over her shoulder before closing the door of the blue car and following Jason towards the building. It was slightly intimidating and not just because of it's size. There wasn't any ivy growing on the sides like there had been at Barbary's (though it was always well kept- more of a decoration than anything) and there wasn't any flower gardens in the front of the school. And there were just so many kids walking around before class. It was scary for a girl who wasn't used to something like that.
Jason led her to the office as she glanced around. She had refrained from "dressing up" as Jason had put it because she didn't want to stand out too much, though she was almost certain what she had picked out was still a little more...high-brow than the other students' clothes. It seemed the most expensive things they were wearing came from some department store in a mall. Her shoes had probably cost more than their outfits. She shuffled along, shaking her head and sighing softly to herself. Of course she had to transfer schools in the middle of her senior year. Way to go there. She felt like smacking herself for ever thinking of moving in with her grandparents. It wasn't that she thought she wouldn't fit it, she was more than certain she would, it was just strange.
"Uncle David and Aunt Renee already have you signed up to go to school here," her cousin told her. "So just tell Ms. Inman your name and ask for your scedule. I'll wait out here for you."
The girl sighed, nodding slightly as she pushed the door to the office open. Two older women sat at a desk, both looking something up on the computers. She stepped up the the desk quietly, looking at their name plaques to make sure she was asking the right person. A small smile stretched across her lips as one of them looked up at her. She cleared her throat quietly before opening her mouth. "Excuse me, but I need my schedule?" It came out as more of a question than a statement. "My name's Penelope Reids. I think my grandparents have already got everything filled out." She messed with some of her pin straight black hair as she waited for her to print out her schedule. Penny smiled once again as Ms. Inman handed her the paper and thanked her before walking out.
She glanced over at Jason as she closed the door, then looked at her schedule. "So, buddy, where is Mr. Lashbrook's English class? And do you have somewhere I can put this bag?"
"Yeah, yeah. You can put your bag in my locker. Just go down this hall, turn left at the end of it, go up the stairs, and it should be th-" He paused, seeing the lost look on her face. He shook his head, sighing, before motioning for her to follow him. "C'mon, I'll show you."
Penny nodded and walked alongside him as he led the way. She wrinkled her nose at the feeling of being like a lost puppy. Oh, that thought did not sit well with her at all. Penny Reids was many things, but 'lost' and 'puppy' weren't on that list. At all. But it described the situation so well. She mentally groaned, assuring herself after a few days that it wouldn't be that big of a deal anymore. She'd find her way around with no problem in no time at all once she got used to this school. It wouldn't be that hard, she figured. She already liked it a little because she didn't have to wear a uniform anymore, so that was a good sign...right?
"Jase, I feel so out of place," she confided in her cousin as they reached his locker and he opened it. She dropped her bag off, making sure she had a binder and pen, before sighing. She glanced up and down the hall, shaking her head. There was no way she'd get used to halls this crowded or navidating around such a big place. Oh, this was impossible. "Just show me where my class is, please."
