Melissa was not pleased. Not pleased one bit. She was rather upset and annoyed and going through withdrawls because she hadn't seen Luz in a few days, which was faaaar to long to go without clinging to the small girl and getting her into random bits of trouble. She couldn't help it. Luz was so innocent and adorable and melissa was the complete opposite. It still kindof amazed her that they were so close, but at the same time it didnt because they had such close personalities. Plus, melissa did love to party, and luz didnt drink or do anything else, though melissa had a secret plan to one day get luz drunk off her ass and then go watch some french film with her where they could mock it ruthlessly and having a slurred running commentary the entire time. LUZ! I SWEAR TO JESUS OR BUDDUH OR WHATEVER RELIGION I AM THIS WEEK THAT IF YOU DONT ANSWER YOUR PHONE IN TWO POINT FIVE SECONDS IM GOING TO HUNT YOU DOWN AND DYE YOUR HAIR HOT PINK! melissa shouted into the telephone as she jumped out of her car, shoving the sidekick into her pocket as she made her way into revolution records, making a bee line for luz's space and after finding it empty, turned on her heel and marched towards the information desk. Smiling sweetly she placed her arms ontop of the desk and leaned forward. excuse me, i was looking for luzviminda sorrel and i cant seem to find her. do you know where she is? Melissa could be civil when she chose to and sweet when she wanted her way, which was what she was doing at the time being. im sorry miss, she didn't come into work today. Melissa frowned. She knew that much already. well can you tell me where she is? did she call in sick or what? because i havent seen my best friend in like three days and im slowly going insane and listen, i really dont want to cause a scene but i will scream and cry until i find out where she is melissa spoke, head tilting to the side with a sweet smile on her lips as the secretary ducked her head and quickly typed a few things on the computer. shes at saint clements hospital. Melissa's jaw dropped for a moment but she uttered a quick thank you and turned, running out of the building and back into her car, heading towards the hospital. Knowing melissa though, she couldn't go empty handed. refused to actually. Enterting the hospital she made a quick journey to the gift store, buying a couple bags of gummie bears, a few chocolate bars, a plastic container of sushi from a fridge, two bottles of sparkling water, a greeting card that said happy 50th anniversery, a small pink bear with a heart that said i wuv you and a big thing of flowers. Ohh luz was going to hate her for this but she didnt care. Hearing the grand total she stiffled an outraged cough and quickly handed over sixty two dollars and fifteen cents. Ohhh, luz was in for it. Smirking she hauled her armful of purchases upstairs and stopping at the nurses station quickly asked for luz's room number and was shut down. Apparently, it wasn't visiting hours. BUT I NEED TO SEE HER! NOW! IM HER LONG LOST OLDER, TALLER SISTER! she shouted, staring at the nurse with wide eyes that where already starting to tear up as her lower lip quivered dangerously. She was quickly shusshed and escorted to the room where the door was closed. Hopefully Luz hadn't heard her shouting match with the nurses, she would never live that down. Pushing open the door with her hip she smirked. LUUCCCYYY IM HOOMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE She yelled as she closed the door and grinned widely at her friend, all traces of frustration and annoyance at not being able to find her before erasing as she watched her friend quietly. and i come bearing presents she added as she sat down on a corner of luz's bed, dropping her arm full of goodies onto her lap. TAGGED: marzii as luz WORD COUNT: 694 LISTENING TO: aim beeps and martha steewart aha damn my mom for being in the same room NOTES: oh heey, its their 50th anniversery! PICTURE YOU'RE THE QUEEN of everything , as far as the eye can see
"Aren't cha gonna pick that up?"
The boy looked up with curious wide crystal blue eyes. Luzviminda cringed at such an innocent question. In truth it really was just a simple question that required only a simple answer. Luzviminda knew that the little boy wasn't prying into her business. The little boy wasn't trying to be sarcastic or harsh with his question. And yet once asked that question Luzviminda had looked hurt, a terrible guilt washing over her face as she actually acknowledged the phone in her hands. Looking down on it she continued to have a worried frown that weighed out her delicate features.
She saw the screen glow, she heard the ring tone ring, and holding the cellphone tightly as she did she was sure to feel the vibration. Luzviminda was surely aware someone was calling, and she knew exactly who it was. Usually little miss sunshine would be all smiles receiving any phone call. To her knowing someone is taking their time to talk to her for whatever reason was special. It was those special moments she cherished. Usually being the key word.
Hearing the short beep, Luz shook her head slightly as she came back to reality. She let out a small sheepish laugh as she patted the boy's head. "You know.. I think it's best if I dont", she said softly . Flipping her voyager she let out a small sigh reading the notice on the inside screen. One missed call. Biting the corner of her lower lip slightly she closed her eyes and pressed firmly on the end button.
She hardly ever turned her phone off. Luz was the type of person to stand by for anyone or anything no matter how significant. [ That is if her phone wasn't broken or messed up by her clumsy nature. ] It was like ripping a painfully glued on band aid from skin. It wasn't pretty, nor was it enjoyable for Luz. With that frown back on her pretty little face Luzviminda could feel the tears welling up.
"Uh... Luz?" the little boy piped up waving his hands in front of little miss sunshine in an attempt to get her attention. "Don't cry! Here", the boy had said with a confidence only a child could possess as he pushed the toy he had been playing with in Luz's hand.
Holding the small toy plane in her hands, Luzviminda sniffed quietly rubbing away any stray tears that had got away. Her lip quivered slightly but she took a deep breath trying to calm down. As more and more kids came up to her offering her their toys as an attempt to cease Luz from crying the horrible feeling she felt slowly started to go away. A small giggle escaped her lips as she held an arm full of toys. She looked at all of little children's bright hopeful faces and suddenly felt embarrassed at the situation at hand. Slowly a red tint started to appear upon her cheeks, her face too started to glow with that same bright hopeful look.
"Ehh! You guys are just too much" Luz sighed quietly releasing the toys in her arms and jumped up playfully tickling each of the children who crowded around her. Squeals and giggles of delight soon started to fill the room as little children ran about. Chasing the little children it almost made Luz about how everyone in that room was fighting their own battles. Catching her breathe she stopped standing the middle of the room, her eyes staring at the colorfully painted cartoons on the walls of St. Clements hospital's "play room".
She watched the children run around, breaking up into tiny little groups to play their own little games. The sun was shining through the window and the room was kissed with its warmth. It seemed like an ironic moment, a room so warm and full of life and yet the children who were occupying it wore hospital gowns. Luzviminda took one of her many mental pictures with a blink of her eyes, taking in every inch of those children's battle scars. Some beaten down, some crippled, some ridden with illness and all Luzviminda could see were their goofy smiles and wide eyes.
Closing her eyes quietly, Luz took in the welcoming atmosphere. Most people would look upon those children's situation and only think depressing thoughts. How tragic it would be if they were in their shoes. How it must suck having to deal with growing up knowing the hospital you were emitted in was your own world. But most people were simply looking on the outside in. Life was too short as it was , Luz was told at a young age that even more time was going to be taken away from her because of what she had. Opening her eyes she knew almost if not all of the kids in font of her knew life wasn't going to give them a break.
That's why you make your own.
"Dont you know you're supposed to be in your room for a check up misses?" one of the nurses asked appearing in the doorway. Luzviminda smiled wide and joined in the children's simultaneous 'awh'. She winked at her small group of fans and skipped along back to her room after thanking the nurse for the reminder.
Turning the corner, Luz continued to walk the barren hallways of the hospital that led to her room. Though it wasn't intentionally planned the girl had managed to check herself back in for a good couple of days now. For some reason the usual symptoms that she had gone through her whole life were starting to become more extreme. It isnt fun getting random bruises or fevers nor being cooped up in a hospital guest room for much of the day but after having a slight inccident during a visit from her parents she didn't have much of a choice.
A few checkups here and there along with some tests didn't make Luz think she would be staying as long. Though seeing her parents freak out after her slight health slip up she didn't want her friends or co-workers doing the same. Dealing with all the technicalities of filling out an away form for Revolution Reccords was one thing, but she didn't think that slipping away quietly for a few days would make anyone crazy with concern.
That was of course her initial thought. It proved difficult when with in the first day of not picking up her cellphone Luz got an earful from her dear friend Melissa. She sighed quietly opening the door to her room. No doubt there was probably another voice message on her phone from the girl today. She felt bad, though special too knowing that she would care that much. She did of course miss Melissa's affectionate clinging onto and ways of getting herself into trouble.
"I'll bake her a cake!" Luz nodded to herself. If all went well she was due to check out tomorrow. Then she would apologize and all would be better. Well, that is if Miss Melissa didn't actually eat the cake. Luz was the type of girl who still thought two whole eggs meant egg shells and all.
Knowing that she was going to have a check up soon Luz took off her gray cardigan wearing only a black and gray slouchy layered tank top. Thankfully she was blessed enough to be able to not wear the hospital gown. She hummed quietly kneeling down to where her bag was beside the hospital bed to rummage for a hair tie. Thinking of Melissa she could have sworn she heard her voice faintly down the hallway shouting. She shuddered quietly at how realistic it sounded.
"Creepy" she whispered as she found herself a hair tie. Easily proud of that she grasped it, though in the process ended up knocking out her comb as well. Seeing it roll under the bed she crawled under to get it only to have her head hit the bottom as she heard a familiar voice.
"eh..." Luz started seeing Melissa, her mouth gaped as she crawled out from under the bed [ because she was small enough to do that apparently.] "...ehhh..." was all she could say at first wondering how her best friend figured out she was in the hospital but soon rid that off as she saw the supposed gifts she came bearing.
"EHHH!?" Luz finally exclaimed pointing wildly at the gifts. "Who... what..wh-why..." she stumbled over her words.
" HOW MUCH DID THAT COST !?"
[/blockquote] finished . 1412 words . never say never by the fray ; so sorry for the wait ! PULLING APART , PULL IT TOGETHER
