twelve a.m. seriously?! the girls vocals emitted softly as she stared silently at her ceiling, hands clenched into fists as she sighed rather loudly. then again she was the only one in the room so who was to notice what she did? Pulling herself into a sitting position, her knees against her chest and her arms wrapped around them. Insomnia was a bitch. She honestly hated it more then she hated...well more then the thing she hated most in the world which escaped her at the moment. She had refused to take the medicatoin for fear of falling asleep but then never waking up. And that was something she was just not ready to face just yet. Tonight however, all she wanted to do was sleep. She had been out late the entire week and she finally just wanted to curl into bed and pass out for a couple of hours, then wake up refreashed and ready to not sleep for another like...three days. ha. After spending a few seconds staring down at her hands she glanced over at her clock to see 12:02 a.m blinking at her. Shaking her head she swung her legs out of the bed, kicking the covers off as she went and hopped down and made her way to the bathroom. Flicking on the light she eyed herself in the mirror for a moment before grabbing a brush and quickly pulling it through her barely tangled locks. The liquid eyeliner she had applied to her top lids a few hours before was still perfectly intact, and laying down on her bed she had somehow managed not to rub off her foundation. Huh, by the looks of her, if you ignored the bright red basketball shorts and oversized t-shirt, you wouldnt think she had just been laying in bed frustrated that she had yet to fall asleep.
Strolling over to her dresser she rumaged around, pulling out a pair of tattered denim shorts and a purple hoodie with a day of the dead skull on it. Changing quickly she shoved her feet into her favorite pair of worn out ankle high black converse and after pausing a moment to grab her cell phone off the dresser and sparing a quick look at the packet of cigarettes, turned and left the room, leaving the cigarettes behind as well. sure, they would help her relax more, but if she was leaving to get freash air, she didn't really need a trail of smoke following in her wake. Stepping out of the house she paused for a second as she adjusted to the temperature change before continuing down the street. she didnt really have a destination in mind, at the moment she was just wandering with a blank mind, ignoring the beeps coming from her back pocket as her sidekick tried to get her attention. She had to refrain from just dropping it in the middle of the street as something caught her attention. ah, the park. what a great place to go. it would probably be deserted at this time of night, or insanely active, who knew, but apparently melissa was going to find out. Enterting the park she paused, glancing around cautiously as she knelt down and plucked a bright purple flower from the ground, twirling the stem between her index finger and thumb as she wandered aimlessly, eventually coming up to the middle of the park and spying the grand fountain in the center. Still twirling the flower she made her way over to the fountain and sat, one leg tucked beneath her while the other dangled off the fountain, not even able to reach the ground. Ugh, she really needed to grow an inch..or three. It was times like this melissa wish she had brought her camera. it was gorgeous when it was dark, with the occasional light and moonlight giving a soft glow to the park. And now of course she was dying to run back to her home and grab it and come back to the exact place she was at now, but with her attention span she would get distracted halfway through and never make it back to the park.Tilting her head to the side she began plucking at the flowers, absent mindly saying what every little girl used to sing when plucking petals from a flower he loves me, he loves me not.. who was the he exactly? hell, melissa had no idea. as far as she was concerned, the he could be an alien in outer space that was spying on her. Laughing softly at this thought she continued to whisper the childhood rhyme as she caught a shadow on the fountain.he loves me not she murmured as the last petal fell away into the still water as she turned her light blue eyes to the shadow who had stepped towards her.
